Town of Kinder Mayor’s Report

  • It is almost Halloween! Trick-or-Treat in Kinder is scheduled for Thursday, October 31st from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Please Drive Carefully and Watch for Children during that time.
  • Reminder: School Zones across Louisiana are Hands-Free Zones. It is illegal to hold your cell phone and talk on the phone or text while driving in a school zone. 
  • Please remember to bring garbage containers back to your residence or business after garbage is picked up. It is important that containers do not interfere with vehicular or pedestrian traffic. Also, please make sure that all garbage is bagged.

Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Town Council of Kinder, Louisiana, to be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at the Fred A. Ashy Municipal Building, 333 N. 8th St., Kinder, Louisiana, for the purpose of considering the following agenda items:

Ordinance Reminder:

Sec. 14-52. - Required equipment for Golf Carts. 

(1) Golf carts must be equipped with a rear vision mirror on the exterior of the driver's side, and a mirror on the passenger side or an interior mirror capable of providing the operator with a one hundred (100) feet clear rear sight picture and must be equipped with front and rear turn signals, head lights and brake lights.

(2) Slow moving vehicles must be equipped with the minimum motor vehicle equipment appropriate for vehicle safety as required in 49 C.F.R. 571.500.

Sec. 14-53. - Permit, application and revocation.

(a)All golf carts and slow-moving vehicles operated within the jurisdiction of the town must display, on the left side of the windshield a valid permit of operation sticker issued by the police department.
