Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Town Council of Kinder, Louisiana, to be held on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at the Fred A. Ashy Municipal Building, 333 N. 8th St., Kinder, Louisiana, for the purpose of considering the following agenda items:

  1. CALL MEETING TO ORDER
  2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
  3. ROLL CALL
  4. HEAR FROM THE PUBLIC ON ANY AGENDA ITEM AS PER STATUTE (3 min. limit)
  5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

       (a)   Approval of minutes for the regular council meeting of July 10, 2023.

       (a)   Discuss changing the time of the September council meeting.

       (a)   Conduct a public hearing regarding Ordinance No. 879 enacting Article III of Chapter 20 of the Kinder Code of Ordinances related to the sale of adjudicated property.

       (b)   Consider final adoption of Ordinance No. 879.

       (c)   Ask council to consider a resolution declaring two duckweed harvesters as surplus property and authorize the mayor to      advertise for bids.

Ordinance Reminder: 

Chapter 15 - PARKS AND RECREATION

Sec. 15-2. - Curfew.

(a)It shall be unlawful for any person to remain in any public park owned, operated or in control of the town between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. central standard time or between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. central daylight savings time, unless attending a function approved by the park commissioner of the town at times earlier or later than the prohibited hours.

(b)It shall be unlawful for anyone having the legal care and custody of any person under the age of seventeen (17) years to allow or permit such person to remain in any park owned, operated or under the control of the town during the prohibited hours.
