- I would like to thank the Kinder Public Works crew for their time and dedication throughout the month of January with the freezing weather conditions and the water issues it caused.
- I would also like to thank the Southwest Allen Parish Water District workers for their help with our water shortage issues.

Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Town Council of Kinder, Louisiana, to be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Fred A. Ashy Municipal Building, 333 N. 8th St., Kinder, Louisiana, for the purpose of considering the following agenda items:

Sec. 5-1. - Permit—Required.
(a) Any builder or contractor as defined in section 5-2, who proposes to do business in the town, and who does not have an established place of business within the corporate limits of the town for which an occupational license tax has been paid, shall be required to have a building permit issued by the town clerk, prior to the commencement of any project. The cost of such permit shall be equal to one-half of one percent of the total cost of the contract, excluding the cost of air conditioning and heating, but in no event to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).
(b) No builder or contractor who is constructing any buildings, sheds, stores, or any other buildings on immovable property owned and operated by any non-profit corporation, partnership or association which has been recognized as a non-profit, tax exempt entity by the Internal Revenue Service of the United States of America will be required to pay the permit fee above described, however the permit shall be required.
(c) No municipal utilities such as water, gas and sewage will be connected to any structure, building, shed, store, etc. until a building permit is issued in accordance with this section.
